As an Industrial Manufacturing Automation Copywriter, I am often called upon to write a single or series of blog posts. A blog — shorthand for web log — is a website (or an area of a website) consisting of a collection of entries usually meant to inform or entertain. A blog usually focuses on a particular subject, so it will appeal to a specific target audience. Most blog posts are original content by the blog owner, but sometimes a blog will link to other content, as well.
The length of a blog post is generally starts at anywhere from 250 words (often a snippet of another writing and links to the full article) to 5000 words (not usual).
About Blogs
Blogging is a low-cost yet powerful marketing tool. The best blogs share a common trait: they are well written, with informative and engaging content.
If your business doesn’t have a blog, you might want to reconsider — B2B marketers who use blogs receive more leads than those who do not, and blogs have been rated one of the most trusted sources for accurate online information.
What is a Blog Used For?
-
To help your company build a higher SEO ranking on search engines.
-
To share information about a given topic and become an expert in an industry.
-
To attract visitors to your site, and turn those visitors into leads.
-
To cultivate an online community and engage with an audience.
